(MND) and professional football players.

Recent research suggests that there may be an increased risk of developing motor neurone disease (MND) among professional football players. Several studies have investigated the potential link between participation in contact sports, including football, and the risk of neurodegenerative diseases such as MND. Several factors could contribute to the increased risk, including repeated head trauma, exposure to certain environmental factors like pesticides used on playing fields, and possibly even genetic predispositions. therefore, players should avoid recuurent body collisions and less toxic pesticdess should be used on the playing fields.
